Keeping Warm // Bundle Bean

Winter has hit but we aren't letting it get in the way of our adventures.  Over the Christmas and New Year period we have alternated between cosy indoor time with new toys and running around outdoors burning off some of the boxes of chocolates we have been consuming.  We are lucky enough to have the beach on our doorstep and it is the perfect place to let the children explore.

Cora loves being outdoors, but being non mobile means she feels the cold a lot more than the rest of us.  We have been sent a Bundle Bean to help keep her warm whilst we are out and it is ideal for the changing transport modes we use.

Whilst a traditional footmuff is great, the Bundle Bean has the benefits of adapting and I can use this one on a buggy, car seat or sling thanks to the adjustable velcro straps.  It isn't just a winter product either, the waterproof outer means it is an ideal picnic blanket or outdoor play mat in the summer too. 

The one in these pictures is the BundleBean Go, the most versatile of their products, but if you are looking for a specific babywearing one, then there is another option with a detachable hood specifically designed to fit all slings and carriers.  We actually have a babywearing version too and I can highly recommend it!

Our winter adventures will continue, the bigger boys will carry on running free and my little lady will stay snug, whether she is in a buggy, car seat or sling.

Wilderness As A Family-Friendly Festival

Ed and I met many years ago at a pameran and ever since we have talked about going back to one with the children.  We were looking online at the best family friendly options and discovered Wilderness festival, set in Oxfordshire.  Looking on the website it seemed to be a really family friendly pameran so we booked six tickets and hoped for the best.  Neither of us had been camping other than at festivals pre-children but we were excited to try something new with the kids. Wilderness has its own family camping area which was fantastic.  Everyone was really respectful and kept the site clean and the evenings were quiet and calm which made settling our four much easier. It was a short walk from the campsite to the main arena and as soon as you entered, the children's area was in front of you. We spent large periods of our weekend at the children's area, the bigger boys loved the circus skills area where they could learn to walk the tightrope, balance on stil...

What The Boys Wore // Five Boys Clothing

Hooray for half term, it couldn't have come soon enough!  The boys were starting to get so tired from school and preschool and they really miss each other too so a week off of school, a week where we don't have to leave the house before 9 am each day, a week where they can play together as much as they like and a week to enjoy the sunshine is very well timed.  We started it off by collecting Dylan from school at 3:15 on Friday and heading straight down to the beach. Knowing that a whole week of freedom stretched ahead of us meant I didn't mind if we stayed out a little later, if they had fish and chips for dinner or if they waded a little too far into the sea.  It was lovely spending the late afternoon building sandcastles, collecting rocks and enjoying the glorious weather. The big boys had been sent some lovely tees from Five Boys Clothing featuring cheetahs (they are really interested in how fast animals can run after our day at the zoo this month ...

Dear Zoo Trail At London Zoo

On Saturday we were invited to the launch of the new Dear Zoo trail at London Zoo .  To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the childhood classic book by Rod Campbell, ZSL and Macmillan books have created a trail around the zoo where children can collect stamps for all the classic Dear Zoo characters.   Dear Zoo was one of the first books we bought when Dylan was little and I think we all know all the words now.  I took Archie and Cora with me for our trip to the zoo as Dylan and Finn were both ill and we loved following the trail and finding the stamps for the animals that were too fierce, too jumpy and too grumpy to become pets. We were really excited to meet Rod Campbell and listen to him read Dear Zoo to the children.  We loved the special birthday cakes and Cora got to wear her Dear Zoo dress (M&S did a lovely range last year).   The elephants are currently at ZSL Whipsnade rather than ZSL London so our card came pre stamped with the 'too ...
